We do what we love, and we practice with a passion for the people we help.

Working with our patients is what gets us going. While we’ve built our clinical careers on helping people to heal with alternative medicine, we’re motivated by the holistic nature of Chinese medicine, and this means getting to know our patients beyond their symptoms. We take the time to talk, to understand what’s going on in your world, and to treat you as a whole person.

Kate Pope

Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine | Licensed Acupuncturist | Licensed Massage Therapist

Hi, I’m Kate, a women’s health advocate, board-certified acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and medical massage therapist. My experience serving women’s health began with my years as a doula and massage therapist. For over a decade, I guided women through the birthing process and saw firsthand how frequently they are dismissed, their symptoms minimized, and their treatment plans reduced to quick fixes that ignore the root causes.

From early on, I was drawn to Chinese medicine’s long, rich history of caring for women through all stages of life. Today, at Alleva, my approach blends these traditional practices with modern science and evidence-based research. I tailor every treatment plan with the whole person in mind, so whether you’re navigating menstruation, family planning, menopause, or mental health struggles, I’m here to provide thoughtful, multidisciplinary care.

I see you. I’m here to listen to you and help you listen to your body. And it’s my mission to help you live a balanced, vibrant life.

Damon Iacovelli

Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine | Licensed Acupuncturist | Licensed Massage Therapist

Hi, I’m Damon, Tai Chi enthusiast, health advocate, and board-certified acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and medical massage therapist.

My passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine was born from my travels to study qi gong meditation and martial arts with monks in the mountains of China. I have had the privilege to study under many highly respected doctors from China with specialties in neurology, women’s health, oncology, and orthopedics – including doctors of the Chinese Olympic Team. Under these practitioners’ direction, I was honored to contribute to groundbreaking acupuncture research conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Working alongside these doctors, I witnessed firsthand how time-tested treatments can transform a person’s quality of life and discovered an underlying old-world wisdom that holds true today: The human body has an incredible capacity to heal itself. By treating the whole person instead of a set of symptoms, we can often relieve pain, restore balance, and support recovery without relying on pharmaceuticals or surgery. This deep commitment to helping patients heal naturally, effectively, and holistically has been the project of my career.

Today, I bring decades of clinical experience to our practice here at Alleva, where I promote a modern approach to traditional Chinese medicine. My methods combine the best of contemporary diagnostic tests, such as MRI or lab work, with the less invasive and more holistic treatment offered by acupuncture, herbal medicine, and medical massage. I’m committed to providing evidenced-based care to patients struggling with common complaints, from migraines to injury to chronic conditions like high blood pressure or back pain, in an all-natural, safe, and effective way.

I feel passionately that we need an alternative way to both think about health and to treat disease in our country, and that Chinese medicine and its time-tested treatments can offer solutions that truly make a difference in a patient’s quality of life.

Truly takes the time to listen.

“I've been going to Damon for almost a year now for acupuncture, cupping/gua sha, and herbal medicine. I recently turned 50, and between perimenopause and work-related stress, my body wasn’t doing well. Damon has been treating my frozen shoulder and chronic neck/shoulder tension. Since starting treatment, I’ve seen steady progress and have continued going regularly. I would highly recommend seeing Damon – he’s very knowledgeable and truly takes the time to listen.”
